The application opens a ssh connection and opens/parses a ShellStream every 10 seconds.
IsConnected stays true.

I currently can't test the current beta since it has issues with closing the channel after
disposing the ShellStream.

No errors or unusual log entries on the server side.

I think these are actually two separate issues.

Regarding the first issue (ObjectDisposedException opening channel in ShellStream ctor):
Is it possible that you're opening a ShellStream after the session has been disposed ?
Are you able to reproduce this issue easily ?

The second issue is a duplicate of - or at least very similar to - issue 1942.
Do you have a repro for this issue ?

hm, i actually check that the client is not null and connected. Or do you mean a race? I will check this.

Since your awesome quick fix for channels issue, I planned to update the library
and try to strip down the code.

But I fear it's not easy to reproduce. It takes a while till the exceptions occur.

OK I tried the latest beta and can no longer reproduce the issue! Whatever you changed must have fixed it. Perforce is now accepting a password when initiating a request with "p4 login". Previously it would just not accept it.

I prefer using "p4 login" because the work-around I used was to run another script that for some reason caused the login to be quite slow, although it did ultimately succeed.

Just curious, do you know of any changes you might have made that could have fixed this?

I keep getting this error when connecting and uploading a file. There are no errors in Event Log or otherwise.

Here's my code:

Wha! its getting totally strange.

With a Ubuntu Linux SSH server the exception aboves occurs.
With a OpenBSD SSH server it doesn't.

That would explain why haven't seen it at work, where all machines are OpenBSD systems.

Seems there are quite a few places where SSH.Net does not handle paths that start with "~" properly. This particular case is a regression in the latest beta since this used to work now no longer does.

To reproduce, simply try to download or upload a file whose path starts with "~".

I was unable to reproduce the SshConnectionException within 600 runs using OpenSSH 5.8.

For now, I think we should focus on the ObjectDisposedException issue.

OpenSSH 5.8? that's pretty old ;)
Testing with 6.2 - 6.6.

With 6.6 and the test-application I can reproduce the ObjectDisposedException after
a random number of runs. Between 10 to 2000 CreateShellStream calls.

I was testing against an old server that was once donated to another OSS project.

For testing I always setup a small virtual box instance with OpenBSD.
It's the SSH developer platform and so should be the best testing target.

AFAIK '~' is a shell feature.
WinSCP also can't handle $HOME, '~' and so on.

I've search everywhere, tried using expect, tried using other platforms like PowerShell, but I can't find a solution to this:
I can set up a connection with the Cisco router, create a shellstream and issue commands and receive the results up to the point where I issue the enable command. From that point all I write into the stream appears to be disappearing and there's no data available when I try to read from the stream.

I really hope someone can point me in the right direction!

Hi all,

I try to open a ssh connection to a IBM Management Module.
The error on the Server is: "tty name check failed"
If I use plink with -t (enable pty allocation) or putty, everything is working fine.
So my question is: How can I enable the pty allocation with the ssh.net library?
